In view of the fact that the hair roots die off over time, the importance of early intervention is emphasized. An early start to mesotherapy treatment improves the chances of success in stopping or slowing down hair loss. However, it should be noted that in cases of severe autoimmune activity, such as alopecia areata (sub)totalis, or in cases of long-standing baldness, mesotherapy may not be the optimal recommendation due to limited chances of success.
